What’s old is new again
N64 and Digg make an appearance
Happy Friday!
Welcome back to the only design newsletter on the internet that is going through a midlife crisis. Don’t worry — we’ll figure it out.
Let’s dive in. Here’s what happened this week in design.

What’s old is new again
Apparently it was nostalgia week on Twitter and I was the only one that didn’t get the memo.
Analogue announced Analogue 3D… basically the N64 brought to you by a team that had access to Figma instead of Microsoft Paint.
It’s beautiful and it’s 100% compatible with every single N64 game ever made.
And for old time’s sake… I only ask that the team didn’t solve the cartridge obstruction/freezing that we’re so used to. The kids need to know that level of stress.
We Digg it
Not to be outdone by a flashy N64, The Verge published an interview with Kevin Rose that deserves all the diggs.
This is the level of respect and care that more publishers/brands/websites/younameit should take.
Digg infamously imploded after a redesign that was done with $$$ in mind first and community second. Digg walked so that Reddit could run.
Let’s just take a minute to appreciate this blog post… and reminisce on the golden age of the internet.
What else happened this week in design?
Airbnb announces 75 new upgrades. Honestly, I’m sure the upgrades are great… but this announcement video??? 10/10.

Twitter—err X— announced a policy change even more puzzling than their name change. So blocking is not… blocking? Got it.
Soon we’ll be launching a change to how the block function works.
If your posts are set to public, accounts you have blocked will be able to view them, but they will not be able to engage (like, reply, repost, etc.).

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Not having to reload Figma anytime you add new fonts is the goated new feature.
