LEGO 🤝 Nike
Happy Friday!
Welcome back to TWID — the only design newsletter on the internet written by the team at Off Menu.
Last week we ran a poll and it looks like 66% of you are still working from the comfort of your couch.
If there’s a design-related poll you’d like us to run in a future edition just reply and let us know.
Now, let’s get into what happened this week in design.

Brick by brick… LEGO and Nike ink multiyear partnership
Nike must’ve gotten sick and tired of stepping on their little siblings LEGOs as they join forces to create "a series of co-branded products, content, and experiences".
“The partnership officially kicks off in 2025 and will include series of co-branded products, content and experiences that combine the imaginative power of LEGO bricks with the “Just Do It” spirit of Nike to invite all kids into play and sport” says Alero Akuya, VP of Global Brand at LEGO.
With this press release leaves much to the imagination, design twitter got to work.
I had some fun creating visuals between the Nike and Lego collaboration announced last week 💫 👟

No more playing around…
Playground founder announces a huge revamp that allows anyone to “design anything like a pro”.
Logos, posters, shirts, stickers, you name it.
Hopefully this will put an end to people using Figma like this…
Playground includes a template library so that you are always starting with a great image and avoiding blank canvas paralysis.
Want something changed? Just talk to the app like a graphic designer, says Suhail.
What else happened this week in design?
Midjourney says that they are officially getting into hardware. Any guesses as to what they’re up to?

Apple reveals “Clean Up”, an AI tool for their Photos app that allows users to remove unwanted objects or people from your photos.
I’ll miss browsing the random Facebook groups that all but guaranteed chaos with people’s photoshop requests to do this for them.
The new “Clean Up” feature in iOS 18.1 is amazing!
You can now remove people/objects in the background using Apple Intelligence

What’s the opposite of dopamine? This should be illegal…
I feel like it’s not an exaggeration to say this is one of the most shocking product changes in the history of food & beverage.
